Highlight: Rondo Leads The Break

I love this decision-making from Rajon Rondo. While leading the break, you can see him eyeballing Ray Allen, who runs the wing and spots up on the arc. The Sixers have a 1-2 disadvantage but are mostly concerned about Allen’s three balls, which allows Mickael Pietrus to make an unmolested baseline cut behind the defense. [...]

(Video) Rajon Rondo Continues To Dominate In Postgame Interview

Rajon Rondo is a tremendous player, but he tends to have a little bit of an issue scoring the ball late in games. I won’t go as far as saying he is scared, but he does pass up shots and defer to teammates in crunch-time….well a lot. Last night though may have been his coming [...]

NBA: Hawks Should Have Had Free Throw on Last-Second Foul

Mike Fratello had it right: the NBA announced today that Al Horford should have been given a free throw on Marquis Daniels’s off-ball foul at the end of Thursday’s game. At the time, ref Eric Lewis ruled that Daniels’s foul had occurred after the throw-in, making him probably the only person in the arena who [...]

Kevin Garnett left game with right knee injury

UPDATE: Here’s what Doc Rivers had to say after the game, per Boston.com: “He wanted to run but we have a long season and I’m not taking a risk by putting him on the floor. We would have loved to have him, obviously, it probably would have made a difference. Unless he’s close to 100 percent, I’d rather have him healthy for the playoffs. That’s how I look at it.”

——

And suddenly the complaints about the bench seem pretty silly. Brian will have more on this later, but here’s the quick and ugly: KG is hurt, and it appears to be a right knee injury.

He went up for a lob in the second quarter and landed on his left leg in what looked like a run-of-the-mill botched lob. But something happened to his right leg, and KG came up hopping on his left foot. He hopped directly to the locker room.

KG warmed up before the second half, hoping to play, but he shut it down pretty quickly. For now, the team is terming the injury a “knee strain,” whatever that means.

The broadcast team initially reported KG would have an X-ray tomorrow, but Danny Ainge wouldn’t confirm that during an interview with Cheryl Miller early in the third quarter.  Ainge did say KG is sore, and that the knee has been bothering Garnett for “a couple of weeks.”

Fingers crossed, everyone.
