Highlight: Rondo Leads The Break

I love this decision-making from Rajon Rondo. While leading the break, you can see him eyeballing Ray Allen, who runs the wing and spots up on the arc. The Sixers have a 1-2 disadvantage but are mostly concerned about Allen’s three balls, which allows Mickael Pietrus to make an unmolested baseline cut behind the defense. [...]

Celtics-Sixers Game 5 Tips off at 7pm

A note to all you local C’s fans out there that may be attending the game tonight at TD Garden. The game will start just after 7pm and will be broadcast nationally on TNT. However, unlike most TNT regular season games during the season, the tip will not come 15-20 minutes after the scheduled start [...]

(Video) Rajon Rondo Continues To Dominate In Postgame Interview

Rajon Rondo is a tremendous player, but he tends to have a little bit of an issue scoring the ball late in games. I won’t go as far as saying he is scared, but he does pass up shots and defer to teammates in crunch-time….well a lot. Last night though may have been his coming [...]

Video: Full Kevin Garnett Reaction After Game 1

Garnett followed up his season-best effort against Atlanta in Game 6 with a new season-high in points and another sensational double-double, as well 60 percent shooting (12-of-20) from the field. Over his past two contests, Garnett is averaging 28.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, two steals and four blocks a game. After the game, KG was candid [...]

The Enemies List: Philadelphia, Part II

Before every playoff series this season, we’re doing some rundowns on the opposing roster for each team. Now that the Hawks have been dispensed with, we’re onto the Sixers. Here’s Part II. Players are listed in alphabetical order. Andre Iguodala: There are five guys in the league who have a claim on the title of [...]

NBA: Hawks Should Have Had Free Throw on Last-Second Foul

Mike Fratello had it right: the NBA announced today that Al Horford should have been given a free throw on Marquis Daniels’s off-ball foul at the end of Thursday’s game. At the time, ref Eric Lewis ruled that Daniels’s foul had occurred after the throw-in, making him probably the only person in the arena who [...]

Morning after: KG feels ‘great,’ Steph’s legs, a nice win

Around the Internet this morning after last night’s huge win:

• A couple of interesting notes from the Globe’s notebook. Since I over-analyze every word anybody with the C’s says about KG, this quote from Doc made me smile:

“He ran [Thursday], he told me, on the treadmill, and he said he felt great,” Rivers said. “Other than that, that’s the first day he’s been able to run.”

Also, Marbury says some insightful things about his own play, including an explanation (the one we all suspected) for why he can’t finish in the lane (and why Sean Williams is blocking his shots with his elbows):

“I probably need about another week where I can just get my legs under me,” Marbury said. “Once I start getting my legs under me, that’s when I’ll start getting to the paint. My legs are limiting my drives. That’s a big part of my game, my legs.”

Finally, a TA update:

Allen will have a cast removed Friday and hopes to return before the playoffs. “I hope so, I probably can, with the grace of God,” he said.

• The Herald helps us put the Joe Smith-Mikki Moore debate to bed by asking Smith if he would actually have chosen Boston over Cleveland. Here’s Joe:

“It would have been real hard (to pick the C’s over Cleveland), especially if things would work out where we would have to face each other again (in the postseason). That would have definitely been hard, because I developed some friendships on this team. We did some good things last year and took these guys to a Game 7. It would have been real difficult for me to put on the green jersey and then have to face these guys in the playoffs.”

I don’t even care if he’s telling the truth or not. This is the last time I will write about this.

• Both Red’s and Celtics Blog have some insightful things to say about the game last night, with Red’s calling it the biggest win of the year so far and CB saying the C’s played “championship basketball”–and that readers are bitching about the 38-12 FTA disparity. You know what? That makes me happy. It’s hard to win a game when the other team attempts 26 more free throws, but the C’s found a way. Accept it and be happy, I say.
