Game 6 Will Be Wednesday Night at 8pm on ESPN

After the Thunder finished up their series by routinely dismantling the Lakers last night to send them packing in five games, a time has been announced for the C’s-Sixers Game 6 on Wednesday night. It will tipoff shortly after 8pm on ESPN. Looking ahead in the postseason, if the C’s do win Game 6, and [...]

Highlight: Rondo Leads The Break

I love this decision-making from Rajon Rondo. While leading the break, you can see him eyeballing Ray Allen, who runs the wing and spots up on the arc. The Sixers have a 1-2 disadvantage but are mostly concerned about Allen’s three balls, which allows Mickael Pietrus to make an unmolested baseline cut behind the defense. [...]

Celtics-Sixers Game 5 Tips off at 7pm

A note to all you local C’s fans out there that may be attending the game tonight at TD Garden. The game will start just after 7pm and will be broadcast nationally on TNT. However, unlike most TNT regular season games during the season, the tip will not come 15-20 minutes after the scheduled start [...]

(Video) Rajon Rondo Continues To Dominate In Postgame Interview

Rajon Rondo is a tremendous player, but he tends to have a little bit of an issue scoring the ball late in games. I won’t go as far as saying he is scared, but he does pass up shots and defer to teammates in crunch-time….well a lot. Last night though may have been his coming [...]

Video: Full Kevin Garnett Reaction After Game 1

Garnett followed up his season-best effort against Atlanta in Game 6 with a new season-high in points and another sensational double-double, as well 60 percent shooting (12-of-20) from the field. Over his past two contests, Garnett is averaging 28.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, two steals and four blocks a game. After the game, KG was candid [...]

The Enemies List: Philadelphia, Part II

Before every playoff series this season, we’re doing some rundowns on the opposing roster for each team. Now that the Hawks have been dispensed with, we’re onto the Sixers. Here’s Part II. Players are listed in alphabetical order. Andre Iguodala: There are five guys in the league who have a claim on the title of [...]

Just One Game for KG, and Appreciating 60 Wins

According to the Globe, KG will play in only one of the final two remaining regular season games–not a surprise, given that they are back-to-back on Tuesday and Wednesday. Bigger news: KG will not be under a minute limitation when he does return.

He’s probably not going to play 40 minutes, but at least Doc isn’t explicitly limiting him to 15 minutes.

One last thing: Let’s take a moment to appreciate the fact that the Celtics, for the 13th time in their great franchise history, will finish the season with at least 60 wins. That’s not easy to do, especially when you someone of Kevin Garnett’s ability for two dozen games, when key role players miss huge chunks of the season and when the coach must integrate two new players into the second unit–including one who’s not exactly known for embracing basis concepts of team play and defense.

Here’s Ray talking to the Globe about the accomplishment“It takes a great amount of focus [to win 60]. We have a bunch of selfless individuals. Regardless of who was in there, everybody focused on their job and what they needed to do to make this team better.”

And here’s the captain: “We’re a team that really doesn’t make excuses. We felt like that is what we were supposed to do regardless of our injuries and the guys that we throw out there. We have definitely been tested with the injuries we had to work with, but we have guys that are more than capable.”

Speaking of Pierce, I couldn’t let the day pass without highlighting what Erik Spoelstra told the Herald after Pierce’s white hot second half: “I don’t care what Paul’s 3-point percentage is. You get down to the last two or three minutes in the game, (and) he is one of the very best clutch 3-point shooters in this league.”

Congrats to the team on another great season. Now let’s get ready for (probably) Chicago.
