Game 6 Will Be Wednesday Night at 8pm on ESPN

After the Thunder finished up their series by routinely dismantling the Lakers last night to send them packing in five games, a time has been announced for the C’s-Sixers Game 6 on Wednesday night. It will tipoff shortly after 8pm on ESPN. Looking ahead in the postseason, if the C’s do win Game 6, and [...]

Highlight: Rondo Leads The Break

I love this decision-making from Rajon Rondo. While leading the break, you can see him eyeballing Ray Allen, who runs the wing and spots up on the arc. The Sixers have a 1-2 disadvantage but are mostly concerned about Allen’s three balls, which allows Mickael Pietrus to make an unmolested baseline cut behind the defense. [...]

Celtics-Sixers Game 5 Tips off at 7pm

A note to all you local C’s fans out there that may be attending the game tonight at TD Garden. The game will start just after 7pm and will be broadcast nationally on TNT. However, unlike most TNT regular season games during the season, the tip will not come 15-20 minutes after the scheduled start [...]

(Video) Rajon Rondo Continues To Dominate In Postgame Interview

Rajon Rondo is a tremendous player, but he tends to have a little bit of an issue scoring the ball late in games. I won’t go as far as saying he is scared, but he does pass up shots and defer to teammates in crunch-time….well a lot. Last night though may have been his coming [...]

Video: Full Kevin Garnett Reaction After Game 1

Garnett followed up his season-best effort against Atlanta in Game 6 with a new season-high in points and another sensational double-double, as well 60 percent shooting (12-of-20) from the field. Over his past two contests, Garnett is averaging 28.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, two steals and four blocks a game. After the game, KG was candid [...]

The Enemies List: Philadelphia, Part II

Before every playoff series this season, we’re doing some rundowns on the opposing roster for each team. Now that the Hawks have been dispensed with, we’re onto the Sixers. Here’s Part II. Players are listed in alphabetical order. Andre Iguodala: There are five guys in the league who have a claim on the title of [...]

Perk gives talk on talking, Rondo gets just credit, and Jeff Clark from CelticsBlog.com discusses the series with our own Zach Lowe:

As far as changes go, they’ll throw switch: After 94 games – preseason, regular season, and postseason – the Celtics are not changing their style. But they did do more switching defensively than usual in Sunday’s 121-118 double-overtime loss to the Bulls that tied the first-round series, 2-2. “As a whole, as a group, we switched a lot, and we’re not a switching team,” coach Doc Rivers said yesterday. Guard Rajon Rondo was among those guilty of gambling, sometimes creating mismatches defensively. [Boston.com]

Sharp at the point: Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett go by the nickname “The Big Three.” But if Rajon Rondo continues to play on this stellar level in the playoffs, should it be changed to “The Big Four”? “That’s very realistic, when you look at the way he’s playing,” said ABC analyst Mark Jackson, the former NBA point guard. “He’s been playing outstanding basketball. The only question mark is his ability to knock down the jumper. I don’t think those question marks will stop. But how much better will he get?” [Boston.com]

Series tie doesn’t suit this Celtics team: The Celtics [team stats] are tied 2-2 in their first-round playoff series with the Bulls, and they were tied 2-2 in the opening round last season against the Hawks, as well. So perhaps by squandering a couple of early games they are simply trying to retrace their steps to a championship. [BostonHerald.com]

Moving tale: Perk picks: Kendrick Perkins is without pretense – about as plain spoken an individual as exists in the Celtics [team stats] locker room. And when it comes to his opinion on how NBA referees treat his team, Perkins doesn’t hold back. “I don’t think the refs like the Boston Celtics,” he said after yesterday’s practice. When asked why, Perkins also was careful to indict his team. “I don’t know,” he said, breaking into a smile. “We’ve got a lot of talkers on this team, if you know what I mean.” [BostonHerald.com]

Are Moral Victories Enough?: The minute Kevin Garnett was pronounced “likely out for the playoffs” this postseason became an exercise in moral victories. Few people really believe that this team has a chance at the title and most of those people belong to the group that is holding out hope for a miraculous return by the Big Ticket in the later rounds. I don’t mean to belittle those folks. A small part of me clings to that hope as well. But for the most part, I fear that this season will end with a loss sooner or later. [CelticsBlog.com]
