Almost Official: Wallace to sign with Celtics

According to J.A. Adande from ESPN, Rasheed Wallace is going to sign a two year deal for the full mid-level exception with the Celtics.

While this move handcuffs the Celts a little for the rest of the free agency period, we at least won’t be thin up front anymore as Wallace can deftly play both the four and five positions.

Both Zach and Brian added their two cents about this possibility earlier in the week, here and here respectively.

  1. HOORAY!!!1!!ONE!

For a couple months now I’d been hoping the C’s would at least TRY to get ‘Sheed. Of all the FAs on the market this year, he was as close to being the ideal solution as we could hope for. And now, supposedly, they got him. Unless he does like that Turgokogogooloo clown…

  2. And for those doubters concerned about his age, I’ll ask you to recall how important the ghost of PJ Brown was in ‘08.

the celts will be puttin a more balance blowing out team out there in starters who kill defense in rondo, allen, pierce, garnett, perkins, then can thru in reserves who can can create easy offense along with with slow down the opposition a bit. wallace holdin down the paint while house runnin around while hill brings up the ball and sets tony allen n hopefully a healthy powe into offense. while the big 3 extends mintues to their career. rondo should get alot of burn on both line-ups if he keeps ast high n fg% high
