Report: Daniels Sign-and-Trade Unlikely

From the Indy Star, via RealGM:

The Pacers and Celtics have been trying to work out a sign-and-trade for Marquis Daniels, but a source told the Indianapolis Star that a deal is unlikely.

Daniels agreed to join Boston last month, and is expected to sign with the Celtics for the biannual exception.

The clubs have been looking for a third team to facilitate a trade, but haven’t had any luck.

If true, this is big news, because it means the Celtics would be stuck with 14 players guaranteed money, a group that does not include Lester Hudson. That increases the likelihood that—for now—the C’s are going to fill the back-up PG slot from the group we already have under contract or (obviously) waive Hudson.

There seems to be a lot of sentiment around here for keeping Hudson. I haven’t seen him play nearly enough to weigh in on that, though his numbers from college are solid, his age (nearly 25) is a plus and the clips I’ve been able to watch look fine.

In any case, this would also leave us with some expiring deals (TA, Scal, Giddens) that could make semi-interesting trade chips in the winter.

Plllleeeeeaaaassssse…..somebody take scal and ta off our roster!!
How bout a threewAy deal with pacers and hornets? Hornets need sg/sf’s and the pacers don’t want our expiring contracts.
I’m not sure what the hornets have to offer up in the deal but it’s an option?

Wait on a pg until before the trade deadline. There will be many teams looking for expiring contracts then. We will be able to pick up a vet then.

Or how about a trade with Charlotte for Raymand Felton. Trade TA and Scal for Felton. Sign Felton to a resonable 2 year deal and also open up a roster spot! What do you think Zach?
