Las Vegas is the obvious choice.....no cities that have a team would feel left out, maximum glamor, and no fixes on inductee votes. Plus the league could make it mandatory for the summer leaguers to make an appearance.

Well, I think if the proposed Hall of Fame were to be one where people were actually expected visit, I would think New York or LA would require prime consideration. Either city would pull in measurably more visitors than any other location.

Not going to argue over the merits of LA vs. Boston as that'll go nowhere, but I do want to tell you that Los Angeles is most definitely a Lakers town first.

Okay, maybe one thing on having the NBA HOF in Los Angeles. I think you'd have a difficult time arguing that LA, with Showtime in the 80s, good but not great teams in the 90s, Kobe/Shaq in the early 00s and now the new Kobe-led teams, has not been the main hub of NBA basketball over the last thirty years. And I think that matters more than you'd care to admit to yourself.

Hey, Neil. I definitely thought about Syracuse/Rochester/Upstate NY. Maybe I thought it was a little too close to Cooperstown, though that could make Hall of Fame jumping easy for travelers. It at least merited a mention with DC/Chicago/etc at the end of the post.
