Avery Bradley Likely Done For Season

On the back of a horrific game six performance, Gary Washburn of the Globe piled on with more bad news: Avery Bradley is almost certainly done for the season. Washburn: A source close to Bradley told the Globe that it’s in the “high 90s” percentile that Bradley will be shut down and will perhaps need [...]

Game 6 Will Be Wednesday Night at 8pm on ESPN

After the Thunder finished up their series by routinely dismantling the Lakers last night to send them packing in five games, a time has been announced for the C’s-Sixers Game 6 on Wednesday night. It will tipoff shortly after 8pm on ESPN. Looking ahead in the postseason, if the C’s do win Game 6, and [...]

Highlight: Rondo Leads The Break

I love this decision-making from Rajon Rondo. While leading the break, you can see him eyeballing Ray Allen, who runs the wing and spots up on the arc. The Sixers have a 1-2 disadvantage but are mostly concerned about Allen’s three balls, which allows Mickael Pietrus to make an unmolested baseline cut behind the defense. [...]

Celtics-Sixers Game 5 Tips off at 7pm

A note to all you local C’s fans out there that may be attending the game tonight at TD Garden. The game will start just after 7pm and will be broadcast nationally on TNT. However, unlike most TNT regular season games during the season, the tip will not come 15-20 minutes after the scheduled start [...]

(Video) Rajon Rondo Continues To Dominate In Postgame Interview

Rajon Rondo is a tremendous player, but he tends to have a little bit of an issue scoring the ball late in games. I won’t go as far as saying he is scared, but he does pass up shots and defer to teammates in crunch-time….well a lot. Last night though may have been his coming [...]

Danny Ainge: Team could still bring in another guard

CELTICS PRESS CONFERENCEWith the start of training camp yesterday, the Celtics roster would appear to be settled for the time being. Not necessarily so, according to Danny Ainge after being questioned by Celtics Hub Monday afternoon. Lots amid the endless glut of throwaway quotes one would expect at media day, I asked Danny about the guard situation and got an interesting response.

Celtics Hub: Any chance you guys might be bringing in another guard to training camp?

Danny Ainge: There is always that chance yeah, there is always that chance we bring in someone else but this is what we are going to camp with right now today and we will see what happens.

Sounds like someone is waiting on a call back or two from a veteran point. Another reporter proceeded to begin to ask Danny another question at this point, however after a few seconds, Danny felt the need to further clarify himself to the guard inquiry and turned back to me to finishing responding to the question:

Ainge: I don’t feel like we need to bring anyone else in, if that’s what your asking. Could we? Sure, but I don’t think we have a need for it.

Interesting statements by Danny here, as the door was definitely left ajar by him, perhaps a bit too much to his liking when he first answered my question.

He clearly did not want to make a statement that was an indictment on his current PG backup options of Eddie House, Marquis Daniels, and potentially Lester Hudson, as shown with his secondary response. However, the way he responded to the question initially makes me feel like the team is potentially waiting on a couple guards to make up their mind after giving them what likely would be non-guaranteed contract invite to camp. An understandable offer given the amount of money the team has committed for this season as is.

There are certainly some candidates out there whose names have been thrown around here many a time (Tyronn Lue, Bobby Jackson, Carlos Arroyo) just to name a few. However, the longer the week goes, my guess the less likelihood we see another Celtics in uniform, since you would expect Doc to want to see them have some significant run with the team if they were to have any shot of making it.

Curious to see what take on this is though.
