My "overrated" post is not intended to discredit any player. It is meant to contrast performance with perception. At the moment, Pierce has garnered kudos for sacrificing stats in favor of "winning". If we are to place a premium on "winning", and suggest that Pierce is doing more to win, at present, than he has in the past, it's fair to examine that past. w/r/t "winning". As you more or less note, "winning" is a poor metric to use while assessing ability. The fact is that Pierce, a borderline superstar in his 20s, is declining, while the perception of his ability has improved to that of superstar status. Kudos on a well-reasoned post.
