Kevin hasn't really asserted himself yet either. Yes he has been shooting at a rediculous clip the last 10+ games but that's only because rondo and co. Have been forcing him the rock. He has been to reliant on everyone else...too unselfish. We need his post up game so badly and a few high post moves where he drives to the hoop or atleast takes a few dribbles in one direction slams on the brakes and spins baseline for a much closer and nearly unstopable J or hook. That would make his jump shots less contested. It's like in the NFL teams who don't even try to run the rock 50% of the time get no respect and their passing game gets congested. If they atleast ran the ball wether it was successfull or not then teams would know they are more balanced and respect the run. Boston needs to post up more in the slow down half court offense. Especially when we aren't knocking down jumpshots. The post up gAme will be more successfull and open up inside out ball rotations and get shooters better looks. I'm even ok with Paul or quizy posting up guards. Atleast that counts as a post game.

I thought boston was playing tremendous during the stretch when KG was hurt. One of the reasons I have fell in love with boston's reserves over the years. I was shattered when Powe got hurt bc I really thought they would have went to the finals.

Glad you have the numbers to back that stretch up. The C's were balling then, stepping up their game bc they knew they had to without the big man and especially, Big baby and Powe were filling in the gaps.

How much of Boston's good bench play can you attribute to Doc over the last couple years? I have no feel for that really without being around practices or anything like that, but reserves that develop (consistently) is usually a sign of a great coach imo.

The Celtics offense is functioning better with Kevin Garnett on the court than with him on the bench:

I guess when KG shoots 75% from the field, this makes sense.

Huh??

I think it is because of Garnet's defensive presence. When one team isn't scoring as much, many times the other team will (subconsiously) do the oppisite of "rise to the occaision" and lower themselves to the level of the oppisition.
