KG's knee injury isn't so common, and they originally never anticipated how much time he would miss. When they did realize the severity, Doc announced he would be out for the entire playoffs, which no one believed, but he was telling the truth. Injuries can be unpredictable at times - you can't expect the C's to look into a crystal ball and tell you how things will turn out. Pierce may be back in 2 weeks, he may be back in 4 weeks if he runs into complications. That doesn't make Doc and Danny Ainge liars.
