Avery Bradley Likely Done For Season

On the back of a horrific game six performance, Gary Washburn of the Globe piled on with more bad news: Avery Bradley is almost certainly done for the season. Washburn: A source close to Bradley told the Globe that it’s in the “high 90s” percentile that Bradley will be shut down and will perhaps need [...]

Game 6 Will Be Wednesday Night at 8pm on ESPN

After the Thunder finished up their series by routinely dismantling the Lakers last night to send them packing in five games, a time has been announced for the C’s-Sixers Game 6 on Wednesday night. It will tipoff shortly after 8pm on ESPN. Looking ahead in the postseason, if the C’s do win Game 6, and [...]

Highlight: Rondo Leads The Break

I love this decision-making from Rajon Rondo. While leading the break, you can see him eyeballing Ray Allen, who runs the wing and spots up on the arc. The Sixers have a 1-2 disadvantage but are mostly concerned about Allen’s three balls, which allows Mickael Pietrus to make an unmolested baseline cut behind the defense. [...]

Celtics-Sixers Game 5 Tips off at 7pm

A note to all you local C’s fans out there that may be attending the game tonight at TD Garden. The game will start just after 7pm and will be broadcast nationally on TNT. However, unlike most TNT regular season games during the season, the tip will not come 15-20 minutes after the scheduled start [...]

(Video) Rajon Rondo Continues To Dominate In Postgame Interview

Rajon Rondo is a tremendous player, but he tends to have a little bit of an issue scoring the ball late in games. I won’t go as far as saying he is scared, but he does pass up shots and defer to teammates in crunch-time….well a lot. Last night though may have been his coming [...]

So Much For Perk’s Meeting

It’s unclear why, but Perk did not meet Thursday with the NBA’s disciplinary czar, Stu Jackson, as Perk indicated he would after Wednesday night’s loss to Phoenix.

Perk has 10 technicals already—six away from the point at which suspensions kick in with every other T—and he claimed Wednesday he was going to meet with JacksonĀ about having two of those techs rescinded.

For whatever reason, that meeting did not happen, according to the Globe’s Celtics Blog, which sites an unnamed league source.

Perk needs to choose accountability now, when he’s young and his habits are malleable, instead of martyrdom and the belief that the league is out to get him. Rasheed Wallace has taken the latter path, and the result has been a vicious cycle of unending technicals, Sheed blaming everyone but himself (on many occasions) and refusing to change his habits for the betterment of the team.

Perk should avoid this route now, before settling on the conclusion that the officials have some vague vendetta against him. They don’t. I love Perk, but you can’t deny that he is a complainer. He flails his arms and makes faces just about every time a call doesn’t go his way after a physical sequence on either end of the floor. It’s a more violent, angrier version of the wide-eyed whining Tim Duncan used to display every time he felt wronged.

And Perk also has a habit of waving his arms aggressively when he is tangled up with an opponent. This will get you a few technicals as the season goes on.

The complaining hurts the team in more ways than one. I’ve broken down a couple of plays in which Perk’s displeasure with the referees resulted in him not getting back on defense in time—which in turn produced an easy look for the other team.

Perk: They’re not out to get you, but they will be if you don’t take at least some of the responsibility for the technicals. You’ve become a wonderful player. Just play your game.
