I do have to say that during this run, Rondo was guarded by Shannon Brown and I noticed that Brown did not give Rondo the huge cushion that Kobe gave. I feel like this played a huge part during the pivotal run by Rondo when he took over. If Brown had just played Rondo as Kobe had, I do not believe this set would have been as effective.

nowayout, I agree, truly uninspiring final play call. With a full 7 seconds left I would have liked to have seen something a little more creative despite the fact that we got an ok look. IMO I see this as a microcosm for why Boston is blowing a lot of games recently: getting away from what got them the lead (that and the whole turnover thing). On offense, why are we resorting to 1-on-1 when Rondo was picking the Lakers apart for so much of the game? Just frustrating. We seem content to rest on the laurels of the Big 3 while the rest of the league is figuring us out and passing us by. Silver lining is there is plenty of time to right the ship.

And Zach, really well done, very interesting analysis; these are the posts that keep me spending most of my time at this blog as opposed to any other Celts blog. No matter what anybody says, I think your posts are quite......fertile (?).

Great, eye opening analysis again. I wonder why Cs did not go to this set in Q4 when they were struggling to score.
Frankly, I don't think PP iso at the top of the key, usually with a high screen and roll (with KG or Ray/Eddie) works a like a charm lately and that is almost always what Cs try to do at crunch time

@BBT: Huge, lifelong fan who grew up on the early 1980s teams, watching with my Dad. Not sure what you mean by sterile, but I don't have much of an interest in being a rah-rah site for the team ("the refs suck!") or hating on the players when things go badly.
