Avery Bradley Likely Done For Season

On the back of a horrific game six performance, Gary Washburn of the Globe piled on with more bad news: Avery Bradley is almost certainly done for the season. Washburn: A source close to Bradley told the Globe that it’s in the “high 90s” percentile that Bradley will be shut down and will perhaps need [...]

Game 6 Will Be Wednesday Night at 8pm on ESPN

After the Thunder finished up their series by routinely dismantling the Lakers last night to send them packing in five games, a time has been announced for the C’s-Sixers Game 6 on Wednesday night. It will tipoff shortly after 8pm on ESPN. Looking ahead in the postseason, if the C’s do win Game 6, and [...]

Highlight: Rondo Leads The Break

I love this decision-making from Rajon Rondo. While leading the break, you can see him eyeballing Ray Allen, who runs the wing and spots up on the arc. The Sixers have a 1-2 disadvantage but are mostly concerned about Allen’s three balls, which allows Mickael Pietrus to make an unmolested baseline cut behind the defense. [...]

Celtics-Sixers Game 5 Tips off at 7pm

A note to all you local C’s fans out there that may be attending the game tonight at TD Garden. The game will start just after 7pm and will be broadcast nationally on TNT. However, unlike most TNT regular season games during the season, the tip will not come 15-20 minutes after the scheduled start [...]

(Video) Rajon Rondo Continues To Dominate In Postgame Interview

Rajon Rondo is a tremendous player, but he tends to have a little bit of an issue scoring the ball late in games. I won’t go as far as saying he is scared, but he does pass up shots and defer to teammates in crunch-time….well a lot. Last night though may have been his coming [...]

Video: Full Kevin Garnett Reaction After Game 1

Garnett followed up his season-best effort against Atlanta in Game 6 with a new season-high in points and another sensational double-double, as well 60 percent shooting (12-of-20) from the field. Over his past two contests, Garnett is averaging 28.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, two steals and four blocks a game. After the game, KG was candid [...]

Blazer Flav!

Back to back games against superstar-less teams.  This could be the best news the Celtics have heard all season.  This stretch of schedule looked tough at this season’s onset but looked disastrous right before the All Star Break given the way the Celtics had been playing.  Now, this game looks manageable, if not definitely winnable.

The Celtics are on a two game win streak post All Star Game and while they haven’t exactly dominated the competition, in this league a win is a win.  That is precisely why these Celtics don’t feel like beating a Kobe-less Lakers team is a hollow victory.  The Celtics are on a mission to right the ship that looked unbeatable when the season started.

Luckily, as they aim to put another one in the win column, they enjoy a nice little gift from that ever-so-cruel mistress: The Injury Bug.

The vile cretin has decimated a very young and promising Blazers team that aspired to do great things this season.  The Blazers were also delivering early on, playing very well and balanced basketball.  First taking out the Blazers imposing front court of Greg Oden and Joel Pryzbilla, The Injury Bug then set its sights on the Blazers “number one” in Brandon Roy.

If it’s any consolation for the Blazers, they get to introduce newly acquired Marcus Camby in to the mix, quickly stemming the hopes of Boston riding the last game of the work weak out easy.

The Blazers have some things in particular that Boston must pay attention to:

  • Martell Webster has been shooting 38% from three point range this season, which is especially deadly considering he is the type of player that slips under the radar.
  • Kevin Garnett and Rasheed Wallace will have their hands full defending LaMarcus Aldridge- perhaps even more so than Pau Gasol.
  • Andre Miller seems to get up for playing Rajon Rondo.  It’s almost as if he feels like Rondo is getting all the glory for being the best point guard without a jumpshot and Miller feels slighted.
  • Daunte Cunningham is an active young player who could decimate the Celtics on the glass.
  • Nicolas Batum is a long defender.  If he plays Pierce or Allen tonight, he could make it very frustrating for all involved.
  • Steve Blake and his 203 assists are gone….YAY!

Unfortunately we won’t be able to see Nate Robinson tonight, but hopefully by Sunday night we’ll all be drinking the Nate-orade.  Until then….go Celtics!
