Rondo Replacing Johnson on All-Star Team

The Herald got it right from Rondo’s agent. According to his agent, Bill Duffy, the Celtics point guard has been named to the Eastern Conference All-star roster, presumably to replace Joe Johnson, the injured Atlanta Hawks guard. This would be Rondo’s third all-star appearance. Nice birthday present for RR, who probably should have been selected [...]

Comments Deleting?

We apologize if your comments are being deleted (provided that they are not offensive). We are looking into why this is happening. We also want to apologize for the lack of a game thread for last night’s game.  We had a premonition that the Celtics would play that poorly and thought if we pretended the [...]

KG Fined 25K for Comparing Durant to MJ

Okay, so maybe that wasn’t the entire reason. ESPNBoston.com gives us the full scoop:

Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett was fined $25,000 by the NBA for publicly criticizing game officials and for using inappropriate language during a postgame interview.

The announcement was Friday by Stu Jackson, the league’s executive vice president for basketball operations.

Garnett was fined for comments he made following the Celtics’ 109-104 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.

Thunder forward Kevin Durant made all 15 of his free throws against Boston, prompting Garnett to say, “I thought we were playing Michael [expletive] Jordan the way he was getting the whistle. Durant damn near shot more free throws than our whole team.”

Hey, at least KG got his money’s worth right? That comment is going to have some shelf life. As for as the other criticism goes, let’s put it this way. Did OKC get some favorable calls? Yes. Did it cost the C’s the game? Absolutely not. Thunder shot 51 percent and executed on offense when they had to, down the stretch. C’s didn’t. It’s just that simple.

So let’s all move on, and hope the perceived slight helps to motivate this team, instead of hoping it entitles them to “better” calls in the future.
