Can’t believe I didn’t say something about DJ’s defense. He looked slow, but he was EXTREMELY clever. He knew how to use his body, leverage, angles. He was even good at blocking out. Just fundamentally sound defensively & he had to be against Magic, Isaiah, etc. For his lack of speed & size he was a phenomenal defender! Thanks again DJ & RIP

He is a legend. One of the greatest role players ever and people forget how good he was before he got to the celtics. He gave up a lot of his own game to make the team better – the celtics way – he deserves this as much as anyone else!

DJ has deserved this for years and I wish they’d gotten their act together when he was still here. He deserved to have his day and make his speech and it just sucks that he never got the chance. He’s belonged in the Hall of Fame for years. What the heck took them so long? Anyway, I’m glad they finally got it right. Congrats, #3. It’s long overdue.

Congratulations DJ & Thanks for all the memories. I can still see you now, low & methodically dribbling the ball up the floor. Always handling the pressure. Hitting a few big shots when needed. You seemed slow, but you could still sneak in there for layups (much harder fouls back then). The ball would be in your hands so you had to hit many a clutch free throw at the end of a game Celtic win. Your presence is sadly missed. Thanks DJ
