Avery Bradley Likely Done For Season

On the back of a horrific game six performance, Gary Washburn of the Globe piled on with more bad news: Avery Bradley is almost certainly done for the season. Washburn: A source close to Bradley told the Globe that it’s in the “high 90s” percentile that Bradley will be shut down and will perhaps need [...]

Game 6 Will Be Wednesday Night at 8pm on ESPN

After the Thunder finished up their series by routinely dismantling the Lakers last night to send them packing in five games, a time has been announced for the C’s-Sixers Game 6 on Wednesday night. It will tipoff shortly after 8pm on ESPN. Looking ahead in the postseason, if the C’s do win Game 6, and [...]

Highlight: Rondo Leads The Break

I love this decision-making from Rajon Rondo. While leading the break, you can see him eyeballing Ray Allen, who runs the wing and spots up on the arc. The Sixers have a 1-2 disadvantage but are mostly concerned about Allen’s three balls, which allows Mickael Pietrus to make an unmolested baseline cut behind the defense. [...]

Celtics-Sixers Game 5 Tips off at 7pm

A note to all you local C’s fans out there that may be attending the game tonight at TD Garden. The game will start just after 7pm and will be broadcast nationally on TNT. However, unlike most TNT regular season games during the season, the tip will not come 15-20 minutes after the scheduled start [...]

(Video) Rajon Rondo Continues To Dominate In Postgame Interview

Rajon Rondo is a tremendous player, but he tends to have a little bit of an issue scoring the ball late in games. I won’t go as far as saying he is scared, but he does pass up shots and defer to teammates in crunch-time….well a lot. Last night though may have been his coming [...]

Video: Full Kevin Garnett Reaction After Game 1

Garnett followed up his season-best effort against Atlanta in Game 6 with a new season-high in points and another sensational double-double, as well 60 percent shooting (12-of-20) from the field. Over his past two contests, Garnett is averaging 28.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, two steals and four blocks a game. After the game, KG was candid [...]

Previews Galore: Knicks

The 2010-2011 NBA Season Previews continue today with the New York Knicks.  This brain-child of the great CelticsBlog.com Blogger Jeff Clark is not only a solid way to keep tabs on other NBA teams but also will help in providing fresh content until the Celtics start training camp.  It may be about the Knicks but hey, it’s better than writing about Erick Dampier’s suspected desire to play for the Miami Heat (wow Damp.  Really surprised the “I have to play for the veteran minimum” stipulation coincided with all but choosing Miami as the preferred destination.  Can’t blame you, though.  I heard they got LeBron) and Antoine Walker’s attempted attempted comeback (oops).

The three New York Knickerbocker Blogs that participated in this endeavor were Bandwagon Knick, Knickerblogger and Posting and Toasting.  Because the Knicks are in the Celtics’ division and everyone likes some divisional trash talk, I have to say I especially love the goals for the upcoming season.

In no particular order:

“A playoff spot would mean success for the Knicks. A playoff win would be a nice bonus. Anything beyond a second round appearance would be a Gotham fantasy. On the other hand, entering the draft lottery would be seen as a complete failure considering the team has offered Houston the right to swap picks.” – Knickerblogger.net

“Making the playoffs, for sure, but I’d add in putting up a fight. I’m too starry-eyed to be reasonable, but I really think this is a playoff team, and I’m even greedy enough to wish for at least the threat of an upset in round one. If this team could sneak in as a 7 or 8 seed and steal some games off someone like the Heat, that would be just about the best thing that’s ever happened to me.” – PostingandToasting.com

“The goals for this roster identical to the last two years — making the playoffs as a lower seed and building some credibility as a dangerous team for a playoff opponent. This year the goals are actually realistic, and the team (in the best of scenarios) may even make a run at .500 — previous teams had to hope for enough wreckage at the lower rungs of the East to make 35 to 37 wins a possible cutoff for playoff contention.” – Bandwagon Knick

It almost feels wrong to tease the New York Knicks.  The team put all their eggs in one LeBron basket and came away with Amare Stoudemire.  All three Bloggers are spot on in their goals for the Knicks although I have to say, the only way the Knicks are making the second round of the playoffs is if Anthony Randolph turns into Kevin Durant.  I could see the Knicks matching up best with the Atlanta Hawks but the Knicks will not get the 6th seed in the East and the Hawks will not get the 2 seed, so the point is moot.

The only Celtics/Knicks storyline I am looking forward this season is a FIBA rematch between the Celtics stiff foreign born project center (Semih Erden) and the Knicks stiff foreign born project center (Timofey Mozgov)- which will likely only come to fruition in a battle for who’s the best end of the bench towel waver.

Be sure to read the rest of the Knicks Previews  and I will continue to link to other teams as they become available.

Anything to satiate your basketball appetite.  Training camp starts soon.  I promise.
