Avery Bradley Likely Done For Season

On the back of a horrific game six performance, Gary Washburn of the Globe piled on with more bad news: Avery Bradley is almost certainly done for the season. Washburn: A source close to Bradley told the Globe that it’s in the “high 90s” percentile that Bradley will be shut down and will perhaps need [...]

Game 6 Will Be Wednesday Night at 8pm on ESPN

After the Thunder finished up their series by routinely dismantling the Lakers last night to send them packing in five games, a time has been announced for the C’s-Sixers Game 6 on Wednesday night. It will tipoff shortly after 8pm on ESPN. Looking ahead in the postseason, if the C’s do win Game 6, and [...]

Highlight: Rondo Leads The Break

I love this decision-making from Rajon Rondo. While leading the break, you can see him eyeballing Ray Allen, who runs the wing and spots up on the arc. The Sixers have a 1-2 disadvantage but are mostly concerned about Allen’s three balls, which allows Mickael Pietrus to make an unmolested baseline cut behind the defense. [...]

Celtics-Sixers Game 5 Tips off at 7pm

A note to all you local C’s fans out there that may be attending the game tonight at TD Garden. The game will start just after 7pm and will be broadcast nationally on TNT. However, unlike most TNT regular season games during the season, the tip will not come 15-20 minutes after the scheduled start [...]

(Video) Rajon Rondo Continues To Dominate In Postgame Interview

Rajon Rondo is a tremendous player, but he tends to have a little bit of an issue scoring the ball late in games. I won’t go as far as saying he is scared, but he does pass up shots and defer to teammates in crunch-time….well a lot. Last night though may have been his coming [...]

Video: Full Kevin Garnett Reaction After Game 1

Garnett followed up his season-best effort against Atlanta in Game 6 with a new season-high in points and another sensational double-double, as well 60 percent shooting (12-of-20) from the field. Over his past two contests, Garnett is averaging 28.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, two steals and four blocks a game. After the game, KG was candid [...]

Introducing Your New CelticsHub Writers

Before introducing our newest additions to the CelticsHub team, I want to once again pass along a great deal of thanks to everyone who sent in any application, looking to join the CelticsHub team. When we opened the job search up to you guys, we thought it would be a wise move to include everyone, given the knowledge and passion about the Green so many over you share with us on a daily basis. Unsurprisingly, we were overwhelmed by a plethora of overqualified applicants, making our decision a very tough one.

Without further ado though, on behalf of Brendan, Bryan and myself, I’m like to introduce our newest additions to the website, Hayes Davenport and Ryan DeGama as well as re-introduce our new intern Mike Salvucci who started last week. Each have prepared a little introduction for you readers.

Ryan DeGama
So…. this is pretty cool.

When I broke a self-imposed exile from journalism this summer (denying me the ability to call myself a ‘recovering journalist’) it was inspired by this blog, and all the others like it in the True Hoop network. As the NBA became more and more of an obsession the last few years, I found myself wanting a place in the conversation, a chance to volley ideas back and forth with people far, far smarter than me.

Long story short – here we are.

So, what can you expect from me?

My preferences include advanced statistics, power forwards who park their asses in the paint, pass first points, running even after made baskets, hedging and recovering on the screen-roll, Hubie Brown and settling in for double-headers with fellow hoops junkies.
That last point is the important one. I hope to do my part to nurture that sense here – that we’re all sitting around talking about our shared love – the Boston Celtics.

I’d be remiss (as if I even know that that means) if I didn’t tip my cap to the recently departed Zach Lowe (you cast a long shadow, sir), and pass along my thanks to Brian and Brendan for the invitation to the party. I’ll try not to ruin it.

Banner #18. Let’s do this.

Hayes Davenport
Hello! My name is Hayes Davenport. I was born in Cambridge and I’m originally from the MetroWest area of Boston, but right now I live in Los Angeles. I like everything about LA except its primary basketball team and its stoplights that take a picture of your license plate when you run them.

To tell you a little more about me, here are some of my dream posts for this season:

-KG’s Profanity Box Score. This would be an advanced statistical study. Hopefully by the end of this we’d have a good sample of which curse words KG uses most frequently, as well as which elevate his performance the most.

-Nate Robinson Transition Long-Two Suicide Watch. These would be videos of Nate jacking up unassisted transition jumpers in close games intercut with clips of my family members begging me not to kill myself.

-Marquis Daniels vs. Kendrick Perkins: Eternal Staring Contest. First one to blink or smile on television loses! In some ways, this competition would be more important than the game itself.

But those are only dream posts. In reality, I’ll try to give you the kind of content I would like to read. That means video clips, charts and graphics, some advanced stats, and a lot of poorly translated Turkish gossip columns about Semih Erden. I also love the comments board and I’m gonna be all up ons that.

It’s a huge honor to follow Zach Lowe, one of my favorite basketball writers, and to be a part of the TrueHoop Network, perhaps the greatest happening in sports journalism right now. Thanks to Brian and Brendan for the opportunity. I’ve loved the Celtics for a long time, but this season’s team is almost certainly my favorite ever, and I’m not sure there’s anything I’d rather write about.

Mike Salvucci
I’m going to be an intern with CelticsHub throughout this season, meaning I’ll be doing previews and recaps and everything in between. I’m originally from Newton and currently I’m a senior at Boston College majoring in accounting. Thanks to the Celtics, and just the NBA in general, my GPA has taken a significant hit over the years, such as on Wednesday when I chose getting my first look at Blake Griffin over studying for an exam. My all-time favorite basketball player is Paul Pierce, and currently my favorite non-Celtic is Deron Williams. And there’s not a doubt in my mind the Celtics are going back to the Finals this year.

This is just the first of many new exciting additions to CelticsHub we will be rolling out for the upcoming season. Welcome again to the guys!
