Avery Bradley Likely Done For Season

On the back of a horrific game six performance, Gary Washburn of the Globe piled on with more bad news: Avery Bradley is almost certainly done for the season. Washburn: A source close to Bradley told the Globe that it’s in the “high 90s” percentile that Bradley will be shut down and will perhaps need [...]

Game 6 Will Be Wednesday Night at 8pm on ESPN

After the Thunder finished up their series by routinely dismantling the Lakers last night to send them packing in five games, a time has been announced for the C’s-Sixers Game 6 on Wednesday night. It will tipoff shortly after 8pm on ESPN. Looking ahead in the postseason, if the C’s do win Game 6, and [...]

Highlight: Rondo Leads The Break

I love this decision-making from Rajon Rondo. While leading the break, you can see him eyeballing Ray Allen, who runs the wing and spots up on the arc. The Sixers have a 1-2 disadvantage but are mostly concerned about Allen’s three balls, which allows Mickael Pietrus to make an unmolested baseline cut behind the defense. [...]

Celtics-Sixers Game 5 Tips off at 7pm

A note to all you local C’s fans out there that may be attending the game tonight at TD Garden. The game will start just after 7pm and will be broadcast nationally on TNT. However, unlike most TNT regular season games during the season, the tip will not come 15-20 minutes after the scheduled start [...]

(Video) Rajon Rondo Continues To Dominate In Postgame Interview

Rajon Rondo is a tremendous player, but he tends to have a little bit of an issue scoring the ball late in games. I won’t go as far as saying he is scared, but he does pass up shots and defer to teammates in crunch-time….well a lot. Last night though may have been his coming [...]

Practice Report: Injury Updates on Big Baby, Delonte West, Von Wafer, & Shaq

The Celtics had an open practice in Waltham today in front of select friends/season ticketholders which lasted about 90 minutes before a small crew of Celtics, including new addition Carlos Arroyo, fielded questions from the media. Here’s a quick rundown of what we learned.

Glen Davis Takes Questions: The power forward who has missed the team’s last two games with a strained patella tendon, was upbeat upon taking questions from the media and felt great about his progress in recovering from the injury. Nonetheless, he still was unsure about his potential return date, although Doc Rivers hinted the team was planning on keeping him out “at least a couple more games” in order to get him back on the floor completely healthy.

Carlos Arroyo’s Intro: The newest Celtic point guard took questions from the media for about seven minutes in a rather uneventful session. Arroyo seemed surprised about how the Heat released him and appeared unsure of why he went from the starting lineup to the waiver wire so quickly. However, the veteran guard was savvy enough to sidestep any extra resentment or revenge questions towards the Heat, saying he only “wanted to win a championship” with Boston. Naturally, a crying question was asked as well about the Miami locker room, but Carlos delivered a playful no comment to that one as well. His line of the day? “I like to say you guys got 4 million new followers in Puerto Rico, they’re truly excited about my situation.” Welcome to CelticsHub Puerto Rico fans!

Doc’s Endless Injury Updates:

  • Von Wafer will be “out for awhile.” Didn’t get any more specific than that, but doubtful we will see him for the next couple weeks from the sounds of it, perhaps even more. Not good news for a thin wing depth chart.
  • Delonte West is doubtful for both tomorrow and Friday night’s game against Philadelphia. He rode a stationary bike during the practice session and his new target return date is Sunday, although that date has changed 2-3 times in the past couple weeks. Clearly, the team just wants to get him healthy and with Arroyo ready to suit up tomorrow night, there’s no reason to rush West back from his sprained ankle.
  • No new news on Shaq, just some playful banter on his 85 percent comments from yesterday.
  • Overall, just 10 players dressed in the practice session and that’s who will dress it looks like for the next two contests at the very least. Let’s hope Carlos can pick up this offense quickly.
