Rondo Replacing Johnson on All-Star Team

The Herald got it right from Rondo’s agent. According to his agent, Bill Duffy, the Celtics point guard has been named to the Eastern Conference All-star roster, presumably to replace Joe Johnson, the injured Atlanta Hawks guard. This would be Rondo’s third all-star appearance. Nice birthday present for RR, who probably should have been selected [...]

Comments Deleting?

We apologize if your comments are being deleted (provided that they are not offensive). We are looking into why this is happening. We also want to apologize for the lack of a game thread for last night’s game.  We had a premonition that the Celtics would play that poorly and thought if we pretended the [...]

Celtics/Knicks First Round Series Schedule Finalized (With Times)

It took until late last night, but with the Lakers escaping in Sacramento after blowing a 20-point fourth quarter lead to close out the Kings stay in Arco Arena, all of the dates and times for the Celtics first round schedule with the Knicks has been finalized. Get your calendar ready folks.

Game 1: at BOS, Sun. April 17, 7 p.m. ET, TNT, CSN
Game 2: at BOS, Tue. April 19, 7 p.m. ET, TNT, CSN
Game 3: at NYK, Fri. April 22, 7 p.m. ET, ESPN, CSN
Game 4: at NYK, Sun. April 24, 3:30 p.m. ET, ABC
Game 5: at BOS, Tue. April 26, If Necessary, CSN
Game 6: at NYK, Fri. April 29, If Necessary, CSN
Game 7: at BOS, Sun. May 1, If Necessary, ABC

The best news about this schedule for local C’s fans is that CSN still has the rights to air the games for the entire 1st round (except for ABC games). That means for at least four more games, you get the opportunity for best play-by-play in the business from Mike Gorman and unabashed and insightful homerism from Tommy Heinsohn. Enjoy it while it lasts.

A closer look at the dates, reveal a pretty favorable draw for Boston as far as timing goes. An extended three days off before Sunday’s opener is huge for preparation purposes and, the easy travel schedule combined with two day breaks upon changing venues (after Game 2 and Game 5) will be a big help considering both Game 3 and Game 6 (if necessary) will both take place on the road. Hopefully only one of those contests will be necessary, but both will be equally crucial in the scheme of things.

Much more on the way later today, as we’ve just started to scratch the surface of CelticsHub’s coverage of this series.
